The Two Rivers Chapter will be hosting the next inter-chapter brainstorming chat on May 22, 2006. The topic of this chat will be "Increasing Member Involvement" in your chapter. All IAAP members are welcome to participate.
Two Rivers Chapter Selected as Avery Dennison 2006 Prestige Award Winner (April, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter is thrilled to discover that we have been selected as the Prestige Award winner in the Avery Dennison 2006 Chapter and Division Achievement Awards. This award is granted to chapters that exemplify excellence through membership growth, outstanding programs, a focus on professional development and education, and more. The Prestige Award is the highest honor in the contest and comes with a check for $3000. We will be accepting this check and the official recognition at our Convention in Reno this August.
Two Rivers Chapter Prepares for Outstanding Administrative Professionals Week Event (April, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter is counting down the days until our fantastic Adminstrative Professionals Week Event. On April 25, 2006, we will be hosting a vendor expo with more than 25 vendors showcased, a wonderful dinner donated by Corner Bakery, and Dr. Lucia Murphy, a motivational speaker, showing us about "Leaving Your Footprints in the Sands of Time". We have amazing door prizes that have been donated (over 50!) and attendance is limited to 100, so RSVP soon if you'd like to be included.

The next chapter members only luncheon will be held on April 11, 2006 at Fontano's Subs in Naperville, IL. This unique event offers members the opportunity to learn more about their fellow members outside of our monthly meetings.

Two Rivers Chapter Reaches 100 Members (March, 2006)
What an amazing milestone for a chapter that is not even two years old yet. The Two Rivers Chapter honored 100th member Shelley Anderson and her sponsor Teddie Lyons with $50 American Express Cheques donated by Randstad. Congratulations Shelley and Teddie and thank you for helping the Two Rivers Chapters to reach this special number. Thanks to Randstad for helping us to celebrate this milestone in style!

Two Rivers Chapter Hosts a PowerPoint Class (February, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter is sponsoring a free PowerPoint:Finessing Your Presentations class on February 25, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This hands on computer class will help you to learn some of the nifty new features in PowerPoint 2003. The class is free for Two Rivers Chapter members. Non-members and other IAAP guests can attend for a small fee.
Two Rivers Chapter Holds Networking Lunch (February, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter held its first members only networking lunch on February 7, 2006 at Connie's Pizza in Naperville, IL. Over a dozen members participated as we offered the opportunity to get to know their fellow members in a more intimate setting than our meetings allow. Terrific networking took place and friendships were born!
Two Rivers Chapter Sponsoring a Free Job Search Bootcamp (January, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter is sponsoring a free Job Search Bootcamp on January 28, 2006 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. Several guest speakers are slated for topics of interest to job seekers, including Creating a Cover Letter that Gets Noticed, Handling Tough Interview Questions and Charting a Career Path. There will also be exhibit booths showcasing local resources for job seekers and human resource representatives on hand to review resumes (with pre-scheduled appointments only).
Two Rivers Chapter Hosts InterChapter Brainstorming Chat (January, 2006)
The Two Rivers Chapter hosted an inter-chapter brainstorming chat on the subject of Impact meetings (new member drives) on January 24, 2006. Over 80 chapters were represented in this historic event, with more than 120 individuals participating from the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Additional chats will be held in the future. They are open to all IAAP members.

Two Rivers Chapter Donates Canned Food to the Food Pantry and Toys to the Toys for Tots (December 2005)
The Two Rivers Chapter donated canned food to the food pantry and toys to the Toys for Tots drive as a community service project for December. The chapter believes that it is important to give back to the community.
Two Rivers Chapter Donates $115 to the Retirement Trust Fund (November 2005)
The Two Rivers Chapter donated $115 to the Retirement Trust Fund (RTF) in honor of RTF month at the November meeting. The Trust was formed and operates exclusively for charitable purposes; i.e., for the primary purpose of acquiring, maintaining and operating homes for needy and elderly administrative professionals and otherwise assisting needy and elderly administrative professionals. The demand for comfortable, affordable housing for retired administrative professionals is growing, and the RTF seeks to help fill that need with Vista Grande, our association's retirement home. The benefits of the RTF begin from the time you become a member of IAAP. The trust publishes RTF reVisions quarterly for all members, sponsors sessions at international conventions, and is currently working on an online resource center of links and other information for retirees and future retirees.

Two Rivers Chapter Arranges Private Tasting (October 2005)
H.P. Schmaltz and Co. Deli hosted the Two Rivers Chapter with a private members only tasting on November 3. This lively networking session highlighted H.P. Schmaltz's wonderful food and the terrific ambiance in their restaurant.
Two Rivers Chapter hosts first Professional Development Seminar (October 2005)
On October 21, 2005, the Two Rivers Chapter hosted their first Professional Development Seminar, "A Voyage to Success" at the Holiday Inn Select in Naperville, IL. This awesome lineup featured Carlene Cline of OfficeTeam speaking on the Office of the Future: 2020; Dr. Jane Flagello conducting a session on Managing When You Don't Have Authority, and Gini Courter and Annette Marquis wowing us with their computer expertise in Microsoft Office Features At Your Fingertips. Over 50 attendees spent the day networking with fellow administrative professionals and developing their professional skills.

Two Rivers Chapter to Provide a Resource Roadshow (August 2005)
The Two Rivers Chapter is reaching out into the community to spread the word about two great resources in Naperville! We have partnered with Boston Market to offer a Resource Roadshow! This event will target local businesses with more than ten administrative professionals on staff. We'll come to the office, provide a wonderful catered lunch, spend a few minutes providing an overview of Boston Market's catering capabilities as well as an overview of the Two Rivers Chapter, then provide 30-40 minutes of computer training, all at no charge to the hosting company! 2005 Distinguished Chapter President Award (July 2005)
Jamie Price, Chapter President, received her SECOND Distinguished Chapter President Award at the 2005 International Convention and Education Forum held in Denver, Colorado. Jamie received this award following the Two Rivers Chapter stellar membership growth during the 2004-2005 fiscal year. Jamie attended the convention with Vice President Marie Herman CAP and members Chris Tomczak and Jane Weishaar.
