The content of the Certified Administrative Professional and Certified Professional Secretary (CPS®) exams include the following content:

Part 1: Office Systems and Technology

Time: 2 Hours

Part 2: Office Administration

Part 3: Management

Time: 2 Hours

II. Accounting Procedures and Analysis 16%

Part 4: Advanced Organizational Management (CAP Exam Only)

Time: 3½ Hours

In addition to the required knowledge base of parts 1–3, this part includes four major subject areas listed below. Scenario based questions will cover all areas.

Note: This is an optional program. You do not have to be a member of IAAP in order to take the examination, and you do not have to take the examination in order to belong to IAAP. You also do not have to take the review courses to take the exam (although we strongly recommend them).
